A commissioned painting of Samos, the beautiful Greek Island in the eastern Aegean Sea, north of Patmos and off the coast of western Turkey. The sea view on this painting is depicting the Mycale Strait.
This is also the birthplace of the famous Pythagoras.
This painting was quite special for me to paint, because it brought up memories of our little sparrow.
This is Leo, my best animal friend and mascot. He became one of my best friends when we found him as a baby last year lost and hungry.
He really grew close to us, saying hello even today as a grown male, surprising us in the garden by flying down a tree and landing on us.

This painting started off with a lonely girl in a forest. It was expressing the peace we can find in ourselves when we reconnect with nature.
However, I was not convinced by the end result. Something was missing. I suddenly realized that the missing part was a companion, but not a human one.
We often fear from nature, from ferocious animals or dangers. What we forget sometimes, is that nature is our friend. When we treat our planet with love,
it cares for us, like a loving mother.
